Copper-Chlorophyll

Applications - Medicines, processed food , vegetable oils

It is a synthetic copper complex of chlorophyll and has a natural green colour, which is present in all plants and algae. It is commercially extracted from nettles, grass and alfalfa. Due to chemical de-esterification of chlorophyll, phaeophytins are formed. The magnesium in the chlorophyll is replaced by copper in an acid bath which gives a safer copper chlorophyll.
